I watched 'the ugly side of beauty' last night on TV as I have always been interested in body dysmorphea and it is something I treat in my hypnotherapy practice.
It was interesting to see how difficult it was for the lady who was obsessed with plastic surgery and her looks to see or understand that the lady with a facial disfigurement was happy with her looks and did not wish to continue to improve how she looked.
But on viewing the programme you came away thinking that the lady with the facial disfigurement was indeed much happier with her life and who she was as a person than the other lady.
The other lady was insecure, immature and to some extent a narscicisst. Proving indeed that you don't find happiness in a botox vial, but within yourself!
