BABY Bobby Brown’s operation to reattach the retina in his right eye was a success.
The five-month-old from Orford went back to America for surgery .
His initial operations were paid for by the people of Warrington, who donated a staggering £90,000 to his fund after reading of his plight.
Bobby was born with Peters’ Anomaly, a rare condition that clouds the cornea.
He needed cornea transplants, but his family did not want to wait for donor transplants and instead turned to a specialist team in America that pioneered artificial transplants.
Bobby needed his new corneas within two months or he would have been too old for his brain to learn how to process what he was seeing.
Earlier this month the Brown family went to America again so Bobby could have a silicone gel inserted into his eye.The gel will remain in his eye for three to six months.
