TAKE a Relationships Centre teddy bear on an exciting day out for the chance to win a number of prizes.

The cuddly charity teddies, priced at £5, will help to keep every young person who runs away in Warrington safe.

Each year more than 100,000 young people run away in the UK. A night on the streets can lead to them getting involved in crime, forced into prostitution, abused or even killed.

Every pound raised will go towards the Life Skills Academy Appeal which will offer young people a safe place, provide help and offer support to deal with the reasons why they ran away.

Anyone can buy the soft toys, but a competition aimed at youngsters aged between four and seven has been launched.

The Relationships Centre, the Warrington Guardian’s charity of the year, wants to see where kind-hearted fundraisers have been taking their bears.

Entrants are asked to take a picture of their charity teddy and write up to 100 words on an A4 piece of paper explaining the bear’s day out. Or children can draw a picture creating the scene of the cuddly bear’s adventure.

The competition will close on August 8. Those entering should include their name, address and contact details on the back of the A4 paper and send entries to: The Relationships Centre, The Gateway, 89 Sankey Street, Warrington, Cheshire WA1 1SR.
