A BBC broadcasting duo who used to host the revered Breakfast Show slot on Radio 1 are heading to Warrington as part of a reunion tour.

Mark Radcliffe and Marc Riley will present ‘Carry On: An Audience with Mark and Lard’ at Parr Hall on Sunday, November 10.

The pair joined forces on BBC Radio 1 in the early 90s and their last show together as joint hosts on the station was in 2004.

Now – an incredible two decades later – Mark and Marc have been ‘coaxed back to wrestle once again on the sheepskin rug of light entertainment’.

The tour is in response to overwhelming demand for the duo’s upcoming reunion at The Bowden Rooms in Altrincham, which was originally supposed to be a one-off.

Mark and Lard were known for their dry wit, chemistry together, comedy sketches, spoof songs and interviews with special guests.

Mark Radcliffe is an accomplished broadcaster who started working with the BBC in 1983 and continues to this day.

Marc Riley has enjoyed a long career in music. He was formerly a member of Greater Manchester band The Fall and co-owned a record label while his long partnership with BBC Radio shows no signs of stopping.

Carry On: An Audience with Mark and Lard comes to Parr Hall on Sunday, November 10. Tickets go on sale on Friday at 10am. Call box office on 442345 or visit parrhall.culturewarrington.org/whats-on
