WARRINGTON’S historic Orford Hotel has finished its refurb after six months of work.

The Grade II-listed pub closed in order to ‘secure its future as a popular venue for years to come’.

Purpose built in 1908, a planning application stated the refurb required a full international redecoration of all front-of-house areas.

The re-opening on Friday, September 8, saw the pub full of pub-goers enjoying the sun and returning to the beloved public house.

Warrington Guardian: Documents submitted as part of the application state: “While we are aware that this application does involve structural changes to the building, we believe that the removal of the more modern ladies toilet block and installation of a new accessible toilet improve both the aesthetic and useability of the pub for the future.

“The aim of the works is to preserve the character of the existing pub, while also refresh the interior to secure the pub as a popular customer venue for years to come.

Warrington Guardian:

“We believe that the introduction of an accessible WC and new ladies’ toilets will improve useability for customers moving forward.

“All works will be undertaken with due care and attention to protect the existing features of the pub and to cause minimal impact on its existing structure."
