WARRINGTON'S newest addition to its nightlife will soon open its doors, and revellers will be welcomed into Truth Nightclub.

Found on Friars Gate, Truth replaces Trilogy, which itself replaced beloved nightclub Showbar, which stood on the site for a number of years.

Ahead of opening night - Friday, July 14 - the club's new management team sat down with the Warrington Guardian to set our their plans for the site.

New general manager, Jimmy Bannister, is no stranger to Warrington's nightlife, having previously been involved with spots like Postern Gate, Dead Eyes Cocktail Bar, and Institution.

He says it's important that the club has a 'face' again, and that locals know who is running the place: "I'm bringing a local team together; that's local bar staff, with local management, and local security.

"We want to bring back a little bit of what Showbar had, but an updated version."

Included in the 'updated' club is a state-of-the-art sound system, the likes of which the town has never had before - that's according to the club's owner.

Jimmy also highlighted that there will ideally be something to cater to a range of guests: "The upstairs disco room will be tailored towards the over-25s, and it will even have a different entrance if people don't want to be walking through the downstairs section."

According to the new management team: "With its Saturday Night Fever-esque light-up dancefloor, mirror balls galore and a permanent party atmosphere, the DJs will be playing predominately 70s and 80s hits under the mantra 'if you can’t sing it, we won’t play it'."

The ground floor of the nightclub is now more open plan, with an updated DJ being at the back of the room, rather than in the centre - which gives club-goers more space to enjoy.

Part of the club's new offering will be its updated timetable, which will see the nightclub remain open until 6am on weekends, with final entry at 5am and the bar closing at 5.30am.

The club will launch on Friday, July 14, and will feature a performance from Basshunter, whose hits include 'All I Ever Wanted,' and 'Now You're Gone.'

Jimmy said: "We're delighted to welcome a true dance icon in Basshunter to Truth for our launch event in July.

"Our goal is to be the best venue in and around Warrington for service levels and entertainment.

"Truth is going to provide a great night which will always put the customer first. We're offering great value for money with the best DJs available.

“We also want to provide a platform for some of the UK's hottest emerging DJs and celebrate all of the amazing music we have in the north west and the country right now.”

Another act confirmed to be performing at Truth is Switch Disco, who can currently be found in the UK charts at number six, with their track 'React.'

Truth added: "Signed to Sony UK's Relentless Records, the pair's debut single 'Everything' was the sound of the summer in 2021 after being used as the soundtrack to the opening scene of the Love Island series and their single 'React’ feat. Ella Henderson is currently sitting in the top 10 of the UK singles chart."

Truth Nightclub will open at 15-17 Friars Gate on Friday, July 14.
