ON the six-year anniversary of the Manchester arena bombing, Cheshire Police has paid tribute to one of its officers.
DC Elaine McIver was killed in the arena attack, which took place on May 22, 2017, following an Ariana Grande concert.
DC McIver was just 43 when she was killed in the explosion that claimed the lives of 21 others.
She was waiting in the arena with her partner Paul Price to collect his daughter and her friend from the concert when a terrorist detonated the device that injured more than 1,000 people.
Elaine's sister, Lynda, told a public inquiry that Elaine had a 'strong sense of fairness and justice.'
Taking to social media on the sixth anniversary of the tragic event, Cheshire Constabulary said: "We remember our fallen colleague DC Elaine McIver, Holmes Chapel teenager Nell Jones and all of the other innocent victims on the sixth anniversary of the horrifying Manchester Arena attack.
"Our thoughts will always remain with those affected."

Nell Jones was from Holmes Chapel, and was 14-years-old when she was killed in the explosion.
Her best friend, Freya Lewis, previously spoke about attending the concert with her, saying: "I'd never seen her so happy."
Freya also said: "I live life for the two of us – I like to think that I’m carrying her with me throughout everything that I do.”
