WARRINGTON has so much to offer in terms of dining out.

Most weeks the Warrington Guardian will receive a letter from a reader asking whether the town needs so many different eateries - but the fact of the matter is, we all enjoy going out for a meal now and then.

One of the most popular cuisines across the town, and country, is Indian food - and we've found the best nine Indian restaurants in Warrington.

The list of restaurants has been compiled from Google reviews, with restaurants rated 4.5 stars out of five and higher making the list - it should be noted that one or two restaurants had five-star reviews, but there were fewer than 20 reviews for those spots, so they have been omitted.

1.) Eastern Revive, West Avenue - 4.7

One of Stockton Heath's many eateries, Eastern Revive has clinched the top spot of our list, with an impressive 4.7 out of five stars according to Google reviews.

There are lots of positive reviews online, with one saying: "Me and my family love this place!

"Without fail, every time we go, the staff are attentive and lovely, and the food is amazing.

"I couldn't recommend this place any more."

The restaurant can be found above Subway in Latchford, and it opened at the beginning of last year.

One positive review reads: "It’s so local and a perfect location for everyone to come.

"Prices are really good and all staff are so friendly and make sure that you are okay throughout. The place is spotless throughout and the atmosphere is great."

"The staff are so friendly and down to earth.

"The food is top-notch; always piping hot when it arrives at the table and the tastes are amazing."

A somewhat unique entry in our top nine Indian restaurants, Birchwood Spice can be found inside one of Birchwood's watering holes.

You'll be able to find Birchwood Spice inside the Poacher pub, off Gorse Covert Road.

It seems to be incredibly popular, hence its impressive rating of 4.7

Among many positive reviews, one reads: "Went there with a friend and I have to say it's the best Indian I have had in a long time, the starters were out of this world and main was beautiful.

"The staff make you feel welcome and I will definitely be going again."

5.) Amans, Walton Road - 4.6

Moving to our second Stockton Heath-based restaurant in this list, Amans can be found at 33 Walton Road.

Reviews say that one of the highlights at Amans is the 'generous' portions, which can only be a good thing.

One customer said: "Our favourite! We have tried all the others and none of them beat Amans!

"Gorgeous food, good portion sizes and the staff are friendly and welcoming."

Not only another entry for Stockton Heath, but another entry for Walton Road, no less!

Monpura sits opposite Aldi, and is more central to the high street of Stockton Heath.

With a solid rating of 4.6 stars out of five, this could prove to be a good choice for your next Indian.

One review says: "We went by accident to this restaurant tonight. Absolutely fabulous.

"Incredibly complex spicing of the food, delicious.

"Fabulous service from staff who are clearly interested in their food and the customer.

"Can’t speak highly enough."

Bombay 8 is one of the award-winning Indians in Warrington, and can be found in Westbrook.

The restaurant itself is slightly out of the way, given its location, but the food more than makes up for it.

Always a busy spot, one review says: "It was very busy but they had a table for the two of us.

"Amazing freshly cooked food - the poppadoms and chutneys were brilliant.

"Their chilli jam is very moreish, and the onion bhajis are the biggest I've ever had - bigger than tennis balls!"

8.) Spicy Ginger, Knutsford Road - 4.5

"The food and service was amazing! Great atmosphere, and it is obviously a very popular place.

"Catered fantastically for our two-and-a-half-year-old."

9.) Cinnamon Lounge, Sankey Street - 4.5

Rounding off the town's top nine Indian restaurants is the Cinnamon Lounge on Sankey Street, in the town centre.

With more than 400 reviews, being able to sit comfortably with a rating of 4.5 stars is no mean feat!

Overlooking Bank Park, the Cinnamon Lounge is an ever-popular spot for a meal out, as this customer agrees: "We have been visiting this restaurant regularly for over five years, the food has always been absolutely delicious, and the service top-notch.
