Lymm Heritage Centre

Leading Lymm artist Colin Grimes has created a larger than life coronation crown complete with a hundred or so twinkling jewels – inset LED lights.

The lights shimmer on and off between 5pm and 10pm every evening in the window of Lymm Heritage Centre with the crown being the focal point of the latest window display.

Put together by Colin and his wife Janet, it celebrates the coronation weekend and inside the centre there is a five-minute film on the big screen that recaptures the lavish local celebrations for the coronation of George V in 1911.

Younger visitors can make and take their own jewelled crown as a memento of the occasion.

The film and activities will run through May and while it’s all free, donations would be welcome.

Lymm Heritage Centre is open 12pm to 4pm Thursday to Sunday but closed on coronation day, May 6.
