Well I haven't blogged for what seems like ages! to be honest I just haven't had the time!

Things with Charlie seem to have gradually got more intense and harder work, in some areas he seems to have come on in leaps and bounds! and his communication is definitely slowly improving although still not as it should be it is better than it was so we are heading in the right direction on that one.

He is still banging his head to a ridiculous point , he hasn't been free of at least 6 bruises a week across his face or head for about 2 months now but this last month has been horrendous. He just stands and throws himself head first at the floor , or runs at walls headfirst, or his latest trick knocking himself out on the arms of his highchair! L It is so heartbreaking to watch and I just wish there was a way I could help him more than I am doing. There is nothing really that I can do though because if he sees you so much as making eye contact with him when he is doing it it makes the situation a million times worse and he gets even more stressed out resulting in yet more headbanging so the only thing I can do is try to distract him elsewhere in a way that he doesn't realize which is easier said than done!!

His peadiatrician is speaking to the physio team and they are looking towards getting him a helmet made to try to protect him a bit more because this is quite obviously more than a phase and the way he is going he is going to end up with really serious long term health problems because of it.

If someone had suggested that a couple of months ago I'd have cried and screamed at them ! but right now we are just desperate to protect him and nothing is more important than that! It is really hard work at the moment because he can't be left even for a second , some days he clings to me like a leech other days he can't cope with being fussed over or touched or even looked at ! as the peadiatrician saw herself trying to undress him for an examination on a bad day yesterday ! that was fun !! NOT! But in a way I was so relieved because she has seen him show quite a few of his behaviours and patterns first hand now which really helps to build a better picture up.

He is also going to have some blood tests and urine tests done to rule out that anything else on top of the other stuff is happening from a chromosomal point of view ! hopefully that won't show anything I think he has enough to deal with !!

I also found out that I am expecting again ( number 4 am I maddd lol ) so handling his aggression is proving more difficult now I have a growing bump to protect aswell as Charlie !

No one could say our life was boring anyway!!
