OPPORTUNISTIC thieves have struck at a home in Latchford to steal a teenager's bike which he bought with his pocket money.

The Carrera Vengeance mountain bike was stolen from the front garden of a house on Banks Crescent in Latchford on Friday between 9pm and 9.30pm.

Ryan Farrell, 14, had been out with friends when he left the bike unattended for 30 minutes.

Mum Gemma Clark said: "He saved up and bought it in the sale from Halfords six weeks ago.

"All I want is for my son to get his bike back and be able to go wherever he wants to.

"He has ADHD and has been through enough already

"I was annoyed that he did not lock up the bike but at the same time I'm annoyed that someone thinks they can go into someone's front garden and take what they want."
